Introduction

This program, Mission Moonshot Masterclass One, is the first part of a transformation accelerator for companies currently under stress and willing to experiment, to journey into new areas of digital and analog customer engagement and service delivery. Companies aim to seize the day and not wait for the chaos to take the rein. This program is grounded by leveraging the young leaders in the company to observe, to learn at a fast pace, to create, to work with others, and to ask other young talents.

This paper explains a new approach in developing visionary and systems leader with impact, through experiential learning, rapid prototyping, and evidence-based soft-systems thinking. This program provides an action-learning form of development path that ranges from 3 months to 18 months, depending on the participant's maturity and preparation and the urgency of the company. Masterclass One is three months in length.

OASA, the Orion Astropreneur Space Academy — a new not-for-profit, educational and leadership development academy — has developed this Moonshot Program specifically to address the new normal, post-COVID, starting from Hong Kong. It is a unique and proprietary leadership development program for those entering the complex business realm and business troubleshooting in a VUCA world.

Who should Join?

Young-minded employees, highflyers, whom the company believes has the right potential and common sense to be a real entrepreneur. They should be:

  • Familiar and comfortable in the use of technology
  • A highly motivated executive (Hi Potential) with an entrepreneurial flair
  • An ethical individual with high professional and personal morals •
  • A university graduate (notable exception can be made on a case-by-case basis)
  • Potentially a trouble-shooter or a would-be consultant who possesses the following traits: integrity, an analytical mind, clarity of expression, empathy, confidence, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Someone with an inquisitive mind, particularly with anything dealing with Outer Space. Demonstrated a passion for learning and experimentation.
  • Proficiency in Spoken and Written English (medium of teaching is English).

The sponsor should stand ready to provide real financial capital to the tune of at least HK$ 1 million to fund the new venture, should the young highflyer be able to present a convincing case.
